Searching for Africa Born Relatives and Ethnic Groups Using Autosomal DNA

Greetings!

If you are an African Descendant in the Diaspora, you hail from multiple ethnic groups. Find out as much as possible by taking the DNA test. There are 3 types of DNA tests that can be taken for ancestry.

🧬 Autosomal DNA tests account for about 96 to 98% of your Ancestral DNA. This DNA comes from your thousands of ancestor. It is shuffled like a deck of cards and passed down to you. This is where your multiple ethnic groups can be discovered. 💥 💥 If you are a descendant of enslaved Africans, this helps find those relatives that were scattered because of the horrid trade. You will learn MULTIPLE lines of your ancestry. 💥 💥

🧬 The MtDNA (Mitochondrial DNA) accounts for less than 2 % of your Ancestral DNA. This DNA is unchanged for thousands of years and is passed down from mother to child on only one line of ancestry. Imagine one female person passing one chromosome of DNA to her children and the female children pass the same chromosome down to their children. You will learn ONE line of your ancestry.

🧬 The YDNA unchanged for thousands of years and is passed down from father to son only and it accounts for less than 2 % of the male DNA. Imagine one male person passing one chromosome of DNA to his sons and they pass the same chromosome down to their son. You will learn ONE line of your ancestry.

If possible, test them all. Never compete when it comes to learning your FULL ancestry. Research the companies and determine what is best for finding the most family.

As you know, we are a Non-Profit Organization ( Not a DNA testing company ) that reconnects the African Diaspora with their living family members that were born in the Continemy of Africa. This is done through Autosomal DNA testing. In order to search for living relatives that have also taken the Autosomal DNA (AtDNA) test, you must test at one of the companies listed below. This is because the companies below provide family or relative finder services.

If the company is NOT listed on the chart below, it means they do NOT provide family or relative finder services. This means you will NOT be able to find a real living relative through their company’s website and you will not be able to send any messages to people that you are related to.
